Timmy's 6th Birthday Blow Out!

For Timmy's 6th Birthday Party we decided to have a pool party at home and invite everyone.

We invited his entire Kindergarten Class, his entire Tball team, and all of the friends and family on our regular party guest lists!  Almost everyone was able to make it including 20 out of the 24 kids in his class (plus a bunch of siblings)!  We hired two lifeguards for the day so everyone would be able to relax and enjoy themselves.  It rained almost all week leading up to Timmy's party, but Saturday's weather was perfect for us!  The kids enjoyed the pool, playground, water slide, and shave ice.

The parents enjoyed the perfect weather, Tim's pulled pork and an amazing array of food prepared by Susan, kegs on tap, and the pitcher of wonderful mixed drinks that kept appearing thanks to my friend Stephanie!

Timmy had requested a Sonic themed party.  I warned him that there weren't a ton of decorations available for Sonic like there had been for Tyler's party.  He said he didn't care, he would draw some decorations.  He didn't get around to it, but I did manage to do a few things for decorations, and Mom came through with a great cake!

Timmy loves hearing the birthday song and blowing out the candles.  I got a cool "6" sparkler candle this year, unfortunately, like a regular sparkler, it couldn't be blown out.  He didn't stop trying though!

Everything worked out exactly as we had hoped, with most of the kids arriving right on time at 2 and heading home between 4-5, while our closer group of friends showed up a little later and stayed until about midnight!  Around dusk we sent all of the kids who were still there into the basement to play with the toys, video games, and watch cartoons.  Tyler was the only couch casualty!

Timmy had to wait until the next day to open his presents.  He got way too many gifts, it had to feel like Christmas morning for him!

I know I had a blast and I have heard from many others that they did too, including a ton of the kids when I went in to school the following Monday to volunteer at Field Day!  It was such a great way to celebrate our six year old!

Great photos from a fantastic party! It will be a tough act to follow! I especially love the photos of Tyler with the bubbles and Timmy trying to blow out the sparkler. I'm thankful I could be there to celebrate with all of you. Love, Baba
