Timmy's First Day of Preschool, Round 2

Timmy started his second year of preschool on Tuesday and he is SO excited to be going back to school!  Monday we went to the school for a few minutes to meet his new teacher, Mrs. B. and to see his new classroom.

Tuesday morning he jumped out of bed and was happy to get dressed right away at Baba's so I could take some pictures of him before I had to head into work.  You can see here how much he has grown since his first day last year, which was in November, so not even a full year has passed! (Compare his height to the door knob or his little feet barely reaching the floor while sitting in his cubby!)

I met Timmy, Mom, and Tyler at school so I could walk in with them.  Timmy posed for a few more pictures out front.  He hung his bag up in his cubby and gave Mrs. B. the picture of his family that they give to the kids if they're having a day that they miss their parents.  Walking into his class, he asked me to take a picture of him with his friend Francis.  I was very excited about this, as he has only requested pictures be taken a handful of times.

He was just as excited to go back Wednesday's morning.  Next week he will start lunch-bunch on Wednesday's, which I am looking forward to hearing about.  He is telling us about his day pretty well right now, what he played with and what he had for snack.  He hasn't learned any new friends' names yet, but he's got his teacher's names down.

Sami and Ryan's Wedding

The day after we got home from the beach was Sami and Ryan's Wedding!  It made the end of vacation much less depressing for me, I love weddings and I am so happy that two of our great friends finally married each other!  Sami and Miller both went to Radford and they are such fun people to be around.  I am so, so happy for them that they finally started this new chapter of their lives together!

The setting was beautiful and it was great to get together with so many of our college friends again.

How cute is Natalie as Matron-of-Honor at 8.5 months pregnant???

Sarah/Vidnovic dance sandwich, a college favorite pastime!

This was the third wedding we have been to with this DJ, and he is fantastic, keeping the party moving along and throwing out all kinds of props that make for some extra entertainment!

Congratulations again Sami and Ryan!!!  This summer has really been a blast with all of these weddings!  We have one more on the calendar for next month!

Vacation!!!

Tyler's shirt explains exactly how we all felt!

Tim started talking about going to the beach this summer right after Tyler was born.  I told him he was crazy, that I wasn't going to the beach with a 3 year old and a 3 month old, but we both really wanted to go.  I came up with the genius idea to go with my family, it would give us help with the kids and get us all some relaxing time away from NOVA!  Tim started planning immediately and found us this great house, walking distance to the beach with it's own private pool.  It even had enough room for one more person to come on vacation, Grandma!

We did a whole lot of nothing and it was wonderful.  We spent most of our time at the beach, pool, or in the jacuzzi!  We ate out a few times and Tim made us all some amazing meals.  It was a huge treat to get to spend this week with Tyler especially.  Since we've been back he's gotten to the verge of rolling over, has had his first rice cereal, and is about to grow out of the bassinet... our household is about to leave the infant stage again.  I relished getting to nap with Tyler on the couch and play with Timmy all day.  My boys love each other so much and I can't explain how much joy I find in that and watching them interact with each other.

Tyler slept a LOT on this trip, we were sure he was growing extra fast!  He also had lots of snuggles!

Timmy loved the whole beach experience when we went after his first birthday.  This time he was more hesitant about the ocean itself.  The water was really, really rough this year, but I had hoped he would play in the surf with me.  The third day I finally had him in, but then the surf knocked him over.  He did great keeping his head above the water, but he was having nothing doing with the ocean after that.  He liked us to hold him with our feet in the water though, and he loved playing in the sand.  On our walks down to the ocean Timmy would sing, "We're going to the beach.  We're going to the beach.  We're going to the beach today, todayyyyy,"  So I'm pretty sure he liked it overall!

Tyler spent most of his beach time sleeping, but he did look around a bit from his bumpo seat inside of his sunshade!

Thankfully we had the private pool too, and we all got lots of use out of that!

I have narrowed the pictures from the week down to 200 on facebook, limiting it to the 28 in this post was so difficult!  On the drive home Tim asked, "So what are we doing next year?" I'm sure the planning will start soon enough!
