Timmy's Birthday

I already wrote about Timmy's birthday party blowout, but wanted to share a few pictures from his actual birthday too.  He was in a great, silly mood in the morning, Tyler matched him.

I planned to take him McDonald's for lunch and it turned out that Tim was still home at that time so he joined me.

That evening Timmy opened our presents and blew out some actual candles.

This was actually a Kindergarten Graduation gift made by Aunt Valeria - but it was opened with the birthday gifts!

He went to bed a happy 6 year old!

Mother's Day at the Zoo

For Mother's Day this year we surprisingly had nothing on the calendar, so I used the power of "my day" to request a family trip to the zoo, knowing our busy season was about to kick off and that we hadn't been since Timmy's 1st Birthday!

It was a beautiful day and the animals were all pretty active.  There were several Orangutan's using the "O-line" which was really exciting to see.  We also got to the Ape house just a little before feeding time, so we got to see them be very active!

I call this one, "Four Monkeys"

Poor Timmy was very active too, as we only had a single stroller with us.  As Tim said a million times during our visit, no matter which way you go, everything is up hill!  Timmy was thoroughly exhausted by the time we left.  He did play photographer for most of the day though and that kept him going.  He took all of the pictures in the small mammal house.  I was impressed at his patience, waiting for the animals to move around until he could get a picture of their face.

Later he kept taking pictures of the signage instead of the animals!  When he finally explained why, it was so we could read the signs later... when I asked him why don't we just read them now he said, "Well, you haven't read a single one yet!"  Poor Timmy, he should probably go back to the zoo with Baba next time, Daddy and I are not big sign readers!

The Elephants and the otters were big favorites, we watched each of them for awhile.  Timmy was impressed with his own photography skills when he caught the image of the otter pushing off the glass!

We waited in line to go through the Panda house, all 3 panda's were awake and the baby was so cute!

Afterwards we went to Sweet Water for an early dinner and then we stopped to visit with the Dale's and Great Grandma at her house.  The theme song for the day was definitely this beautiful song that Timmy composed for me and taught to Tyler a few weeks before Mother's Day (actually, during his eye-injury recovery).  It was actually the household theme song for probably a good 6 weeks.  Best mother's day gift ever!

Three for Tuesday? Final Catch up from 2013!

I'm finally posting my last catch up post from 2013, though I still have plenty of catching up to do from 2014!  This was originally going to be a 5 for Friday, but I stole two of the items while finishing up posting about the boys' school years!  So, here are three items that I couldn't pass up sharing pictures from!

1.  The boys and the government all had a holiday last fall that I had to work through... everyone else took the day to rake the leaves.  I'm pretty sure the boys did more destroying piles then helping, but I really love this picture that Tim took!

2.  Stella's birthday party last November was an adorable Hello Kitty dinner party.  There were tons of kids there and Tyler especially had a blast.  When it was time for cake and singing, poor Tyler came into the room last and really couldn't even see over the table.  Ms. Suzanne picked him up and handed him over the table to me during the singing, so that I could put him into Stella's chair with her.  They were both pretty pleased with this, and Stella even gave him a kiss after the song!

3.  Becky's birthday is that same week as Stella's and we went out to a great happy hour place to celebrate with her.  While we were singing to Becky, Timmy snuck up behind her and blew out her candle!  She was shocked and everyone was cracking up!  We had them light the candle again and she got to blow it out the second time!
