Father's Day

We celebrated Tim's First Father's Day by taking Timmy to his first Baseball Game! It was a beautiful day to be outside and we went early to tailgate and cookout before hand. We had seats in the first row of one of the upper sections, so Timmy really could see the field and he sat happily watching a good portion of the game. Unfortunately the Nationals lost, but it was still a great day!

1 Year Old!!!

Well, Timmy is a one year old now and officially a toddler! Tim and I both took the day off work to play with Timmy on his birthday and it was a great day! We started off with a trip to the Zoo, accompanied by Timmy's Granddad, Uncle Chris, Susan, Neil, and Zach.

The weather was kind of gray and drizzly, but we really lucked out with the animals. We saw a Tiger walking around, saw the Daddy Panda Bear up and about, and got to see the 5 month old baby Gorilla playing with her Mom.

After the Zoo we decided to go to Chuck E Cheese's and let Timmy run around for a while. He wasn't too sure about the rides at first, but he ended up happily riding a few of them. He did enjoy the skeeball balls, quite a bit and got in a few people's way trying to steal them! He also did a very good job of pushing the buttons for the Deal or No Deal game, he almost won the biggest ticket prize!

For dinner we went to Grandma's house for a cook out with her, PawPaw, Uncle Chris, Aunt Becky and their friends, and Baba and Uncle Joe came over too. I baked a cake for Timmy so he got to sample another one, with his Dad's help he made a little more of a mess this time! Finally we stopped in at Grandpa's for one last present before heading home to bed after our very full day!

Timmy's First Time in the Pool

To wrap up the weekend we spent some time at Tim's Mom's pool Sunday. Last year we only put Timmy's toes in the water so we've been looking forward to this for a long time! I LOVE the little beach outfit that I had him in so I took a few before pictures. Tim eased Timmy into the water pretty quickly. Timmy definitely held on tight to whichever one of us was holding him for the first half hour. He would laugh a little while we played games like "I'm going to get you" or "Dunk Daddy" or just watching Tim go under water and swim to the other side of the pool. It took a good 10 minutes of hanging out on the steps and giggling over how fun it is to splash before he finally let go with one hand and started patting the water. Pretty soon after that he got cold and he actually let me wrap him up like a baby for a few minutes to warm up! I hope we have a lot more weekends like this one this summer!

Timmy's First Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated Timmy's First Birthday Party with a cookout and about 50 of our favorite people! Thankfully we had beautiful weather and we were able to set up some tents and tables by the volleyball court near our house.

My Mom made the birthday cake to match our Jungle Party theme, and made Timmy his own cake shaped like a banana. I'm not sure that he could tell it was food at first and I had to stick his fingers into the icing and into his mouth to get him started. He then decided he'd rather feed me the icing after rubbing his fingers around in it a couple of times, so I finally helped him out with a bite of the cake on a fork.

Timmy made his rounds checking out what everyone else had on their plates, I think this hamburger made his eyes the biggest though! Timmy was such a happy baby the whole day, giving everyone a chance to hold him and also wandering off exploring (and falling down) in the grass, and playing with Blaine in the sand.

A storm and the sunset started coming about the same time so everyone helped us move the party back to our house where we opened presents and then Timmy put Daddy, Billy, and Ryan to work putting all of his new vehicles together. We've realized that we will need to clean out our garage to accommodate all of Timmy's cars!

The happy birthday boy stayed up until the last of his guests went home, I finally got him to bed around 11! Thank you so much to everyone for coming and celebrating with us and our little man!

Timmy's First Hair Cut

Well, this weekend was full of FIRSTS for us! On Friday, as part of our party preparations, we took Timmy for his First Hair Cut. We went to Cartoon Cuts for this adventure because I was worried about how to get Timmy to sit still (it's almost impossible to cut his nails) and I didn't want to take any chance on his hair cut the day before his big party! You can see from the first picture that the back of his hair was especially long. He does look even cuter then before, but he looks like such a big boy now! This was another hard milestone for Mommy! Luckily Timmy was his typically good natured self for the cut, the fact that he was ready for a nap helped keep him still too!
