Vacation!!!

Tyler's shirt explains exactly how we all felt!

Tim started talking about going to the beach this summer right after Tyler was born.  I told him he was crazy, that I wasn't going to the beach with a 3 year old and a 3 month old, but we both really wanted to go.  I came up with the genius idea to go with my family, it would give us help with the kids and get us all some relaxing time away from NOVA!  Tim started planning immediately and found us this great house, walking distance to the beach with it's own private pool.  It even had enough room for one more person to come on vacation, Grandma!

We did a whole lot of nothing and it was wonderful.  We spent most of our time at the beach, pool, or in the jacuzzi!  We ate out a few times and Tim made us all some amazing meals.  It was a huge treat to get to spend this week with Tyler especially.  Since we've been back he's gotten to the verge of rolling over, has had his first rice cereal, and is about to grow out of the bassinet... our household is about to leave the infant stage again.  I relished getting to nap with Tyler on the couch and play with Timmy all day.  My boys love each other so much and I can't explain how much joy I find in that and watching them interact with each other.

Tyler slept a LOT on this trip, we were sure he was growing extra fast!  He also had lots of snuggles!

Timmy loved the whole beach experience when we went after his first birthday.  This time he was more hesitant about the ocean itself.  The water was really, really rough this year, but I had hoped he would play in the surf with me.  The third day I finally had him in, but then the surf knocked him over.  He did great keeping his head above the water, but he was having nothing doing with the ocean after that.  He liked us to hold him with our feet in the water though, and he loved playing in the sand.  On our walks down to the ocean Timmy would sing, "We're going to the beach.  We're going to the beach.  We're going to the beach today, todayyyyy,"  So I'm pretty sure he liked it overall!

Tyler spent most of his beach time sleeping, but he did look around a bit from his bumpo seat inside of his sunshade!

Thankfully we had the private pool too, and we all got lots of use out of that!

I have narrowed the pictures from the week down to 200 on facebook, limiting it to the 28 in this post was so difficult!  On the drive home Tim asked, "So what are we doing next year?" I'm sure the planning will start soon enough!
