Radford and VT Trip

Last weekend Tim and I took the boys to our Alma Maters for the first time!  Tim treated me to VT football tickets for my birthday, and we went a day early so we could check out Radford, and check in on Chris, too!  We left work (and school!) a little early on Friday to head down.  We got to Radford with plenty of sunlight left.  When we first got out of the car and started to walk towards where we would meet Chris, I suddenly felt very, very old, walking down the RU sidewalks carrying my second child, who is 2.5!  We wandered around campus for a little bit, after checking out Chris's dorm we stopped at the building Tim lived at for two years, Tyler Hall (!), and then walked through the middle of campus to the fountain.

Elena and Al rode their motorcycles down the same day, and they got in right when we all decided we were starving.  We all went to BT's for dinner, then dropped Chris off at his dorm, and checked into our hotel rooms and enjoyed the pool for a while before bed.

The next morning we went to the Radford bookstore before heading to Tech.  We took the boys through the Architecture Studio, around the drillfield to the VT bookstore, and through down town.  It was so surreal, some things were exactly as I remembered them, yet there were entire new buildings plopped down where they shouldn't be!  We ate a quick lunch before heading to find our parking spot and got to our seats just a few minutes before Enter Sandman started.  We had great timing the whole trip!  It was hot while the sun was beating on us in the first half, the boys did well, but weren't necessarily watching the game.  Timmy watched more of it on the screen then the field!  Luckily the shade got to us by the second half, and the people behind us left so we had more room, and Tyler especially came to life!  It was a lot of fun!

PS - Tyler wore his eyeblack for 48 hours... through two tubbies and to church!  He called them his "ballball stickers"  We finally had to trick him out of them the night before his first day of school!
