Timmy loved Mrs B. too, and all of his Curious Cub class. When I had the chance to come into the class for parties or special activities I was always interested to watch Timmy in his own World. It turns out that Timmy is a Rule Follower. He knows and understands the rules for class, and if someone else is not following those rules, he will remind them of the rules. One example I saw of this was during the Halloween Party when all of the kids were finding seats for snack. Timmy kept yelling another little boys name, who wasn't even at his table, and I finally asked Timmy to let his friend be, he already had a seat. Timmy was quite distressed and said, "No, he has a car!" Apparently toys were not allowed during snack time... I've seen this come up on other occasions at school as well, and now that Tyler can get to just about anything in the house, I see it at home too. I'm trying to teach Timmy now that he needs to worry that he's following the rules, and adults can worry about everyone else following the rules. Anyways, Timmy thrived at school and got all "Yes"'s on his Progress Report. The Teacher Notes read:
It has been a joy having Timmy in our cub class this year. He is friendly and helpful to his classmates and teachers, and he is involved in all classroom activities. His creative ideas and enthusiasm during centers, circle time and outdoor play make spending time with him a true pleasure.
I am so, so proud of Timmy and how well he does in school and so glad that he enjoys it so much. I'm also thrilled with the strong friendships he's made in school, especially with Nate, but he even has friends he has never had an actual class with, just met during lunch bunch or on the playground. My wish for him is that he is always so friendly, silly, and happy go lucky, and that he always takes the time and interest to become friends with the people around him. (No cliches!)
| Timmy dragged me over to this little girl and said, "This is Ariel, can you take our picture?" She has never been in his class, they just met on the playground last year! |
On top of the glowing Teacher Notes Timmy, and all of the Curious Cubs, received awards from Mrs. B. on the last day of school.
Timmy's received the Eager Beaver award, it reads:
Timmy is excited about everything we do in class. He gets very involved in our experiments, cooking, building, and he especially enjoys thinking of ways to solve "problems" (like when we tried to find our missing gingerbread man... and looking for those pesky leprechauns). Thanks for your enthusiasm Timmy!
(I have to write so I remember, Timmy carried an empty chip bag around for a full day, in case he saw the missing gingerbread man, so he could catch him! He talked about it for weeks too, wondering where the gingerbread man could have gone!)
I just can't say enough about Mrs. B. and really the whole Preschool! I am excited to keep watching him grow this school year!
