On March 19th he accidentally stood up on his own for a moment before falling down. He had been holding on to a chair and eating a toy. All of a sudden I saw both hands on the toy at his mouth, and then suddenly he was sitting down! A few days later Tim was holding Tyler up and trying to get him to stand on his own and it worked once for a few seconds. Other then those two times he has been happy to crawl from place to place or walk around the furniture. When we stand him up next to his walker he will take it across the room.
Tyler is also mimicking sounds a lot, much earlier then Timmy did. Tyler will repeat "woah" "mama" "dada" and "baba". Last week Timmy headed upstairs as Tyler was watching him, Tyler started waving and saying "buh by" all on his own. I'm pretty sure that counts as his first word! Tim doesn't believe me though. Tyler also says "bal" every time he starts to play with a ball. I think that "ball" was Timmy's first word. Tyler also has three teeth that have all just broken through on his upper gum!
His facial expressions are growing as well. I've heard Joe explain Tyler's standard face (pretty close to the top left picture) as an expression of, "I'm not sure if I agree with what's going on here, but I'll allow it for now." I think the rest of these pictures show he is becoming much more expressive though!
I got to spend my lunch break at the park with Tyler, Timmy and Mom yesterday. When I asked Timmy if we should put Tyler in the swing, I was happy to see how excited he got about Tyler doing something fun and how anxious he was to be the one to push Tyler! Tyler seemed to like it as much as Timmy did too!
