Timmy's Pool

Tim found another serious deal on the internet and bought Timmy a new pool that arrived in time to enjoy this weekend. Timmy isn't climbing up the ladder on the back yet, but he definitely enjoys going down the slide!

25 Months!

Timmy is now 25 Months old! Yes, I am finally telling people that I have a Two Year Old, but for the sake of getting myself to blog regularly, I'm going to continue with monthly updates as close to the 17th as possible! :)

I think the word that best describes the last month with Timmy is 'progress' especially when it comes to talking and sleeping! He is still inching towards talking, the last few weeks he's been jabbering a lot more, but not in English! He is putting two words together now "Help Mom" while he signs "Please" is my favorite combination! He has added a few more words to his vocabulary too, 'moon' and 'bubbles' come to mind. You can watch him thinking, trying to come up with a way to communicate what he wants or what he's looking at with us. The other big area of improvement is sleep. He wakes up in the middle of the night at least once a week, but he no longer tries to find a reason to leave his room or to come to ours, as soon as I open his door he turns around and puts himself back into bed. He just wants me to lay back down with him again... I need us to make some progress on his bedtime routine, it's great except for his rule that I must stay in his bed until he's asleep! One thing at a time I guess!

Another Great Weekend

We have been having a lot of fun, and getting a lot done, during our weekends recently. This weekend we had two shave ice events that both went really well. During our down time with Timmy we went out to eat, played at the mall playground, relaxed, and had fun in the pool! Sunday morning I actually had the chance to leave both of my boys sleeping and spent 3 uninterrupted hours laying on a raft in the pool. It was amazing! Here are some pictures of Timmy with us in the pool! He likes to jump in from the side. We are trying to teach him to count: 1, 2, 3, GO! but so far he just squeals 'Go!' and jumps in. From the angle of these pictures I can also see that it's more of a belly flop then a jump!

He also likes walking down the steps, he can do the first three on his own, but the 4th requires him to be on his very tippy toes, so he holds on to our hands, comes down, spins around as fast as possible, and steps right back up.

Summer Time

Well, there's not much difference in our lives during the summer anymore, but with longer days and hotter weather, we are having extra fun with our cutie! Summer looks good on Timmy!

It took a few try's, and a lot of Grammy's patience, but Timmy is finally fully enjoying the pool again, instead of just wanting to play on the first step. We are spending the weekend there this weekend so I will be sure to get some pictures to share next week!

Father's Day

This year Father's Day offered us a rare chance to have the day off and RELAX!!! We have had a very hectic Spring and start to the Summer, and it is going to continue into the Fall. We were happy to just spend the day together and go around visiting our families and spending some time at the pool. Timmy was not too sure about Tim getting presents though, he got so used to being the one opening them these last few days, that he helped his dad out with his. :)

TWO YEARS OLD!!!

Our little man is now TWO!!! I can not believe how fast time is flying by! We celebrated his birthday on Saturday with about 45 of our friends and family, including 7 little ones from just under 3 years old down to 2 months! It was HOT outside so we set up a canopy, moon bounce, kiddie pool, and corn hole right next to the house and people wandered in and out checking everything out. I think the party high lights for the kids were the pool and the cake!

We had been telling Timmy for a week that it was his birthday and that we were going to have everyone over for a party for him and he would get new toys and eat cake. He was definitely having fun, but I think he was mostly oblivious that the party was for him... until everyone started singing "Happy Birthday to you" and he got visibly uncomfortable and was clearly aware that we were singing to him! He recovered quickly though and almost blew out the candle on his own!

Timmy also got a little overwhelmed during present opening. He loved everything that he opened, but a little over half way through he wandered off and started playing with more familiar toys. He rallied though and came back to finish opening the rest! ;)

We all had a really great time and want to thank everyone again for coming over to celebrate our big boy with us, he is such a blessing in our lives and deserves the special treatment! :)

Becca's High School Graduation

Yesterday was a big day for celebrations as Becca graduated high school and Timmy turned 2 on the same day! With Timmy's party being this Saturday, the focus of yesterday was definitely Becky. I have known Becky, and pretty much been a part of the family, since she was 6 years old. I am so glad that I have been around to watch her turning into the beautiful, caring, helpful, sweet young woman she has become. It does make me feel OLD though! Becky will be headed to IUP, the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, in the fall and we are SO excited for her. When I think back to my graduation I felt so much older then I feel like Becky is, and I had no idea how wonderful and fun college would be. It's exciting to see Becky getting ready for this part of her life and I hope she enjoys it as much as I did, and I can't wait to see her continue to grow into herself!!! Congradulations again Becky, SO PROUD OF YOU!!! :)
