Timmy's First Birthday Party

On Saturday we celebrated Timmy's First Birthday Party with a cookout and about 50 of our favorite people! Thankfully we had beautiful weather and we were able to set up some tents and tables by the volleyball court near our house.

My Mom made the birthday cake to match our Jungle Party theme, and made Timmy his own cake shaped like a banana. I'm not sure that he could tell it was food at first and I had to stick his fingers into the icing and into his mouth to get him started. He then decided he'd rather feed me the icing after rubbing his fingers around in it a couple of times, so I finally helped him out with a bite of the cake on a fork.

Timmy made his rounds checking out what everyone else had on their plates, I think this hamburger made his eyes the biggest though! Timmy was such a happy baby the whole day, giving everyone a chance to hold him and also wandering off exploring (and falling down) in the grass, and playing with Blaine in the sand.

A storm and the sunset started coming about the same time so everyone helped us move the party back to our house where we opened presents and then Timmy put Daddy, Billy, and Ryan to work putting all of his new vehicles together. We've realized that we will need to clean out our garage to accommodate all of Timmy's cars!

The happy birthday boy stayed up until the last of his guests went home, I finally got him to bed around 11! Thank you so much to everyone for coming and celebrating with us and our little man!

Timmy's First Hair Cut

Well, this weekend was full of FIRSTS for us! On Friday, as part of our party preparations, we took Timmy for his First Hair Cut. We went to Cartoon Cuts for this adventure because I was worried about how to get Timmy to sit still (it's almost impossible to cut his nails) and I didn't want to take any chance on his hair cut the day before his big party! You can see from the first picture that the back of his hair was especially long. He does look even cuter then before, but he looks like such a big boy now! This was another hard milestone for Mommy! Luckily Timmy was his typically good natured self for the cut, the fact that he was ready for a nap helped keep him still too!

11 Months

Well Timmy is getting very very close to being a one year old! His age is pretty much the only thing that lets me keep calling him a baby instead of a toddler! He has not crawled in three days, it's all walking now! Recently Timmy has been turning his play table into a ladder/ jungle gym (first picture), so Tim decided that he needed a new toy he could really climb on. The first thing he did was succesfully climb UP the slide, and he was in heaven for the next half hour until I had to tear him away to go to bed. We do have some work to do to get him succesfully sliding down, but the diaper was not helping. Hopefully he continues to enjoy the new centerpiece of our living room for a while!

Mother's Day

Well, I'm writing this post about a week late... but it just suddenly dawned on me that I should have shared! I had a WONDERFUL First Mother's Day! We had our families over for a delicious Brunch that Tim prepared for everyone. We had Belgian Waffles, quiche, pastries, fruit, and Jenny's yummy sausage balls, and the whole meal was finished off with chocolate crepes. There were lots of flowers for all of us Mom's too. Timmy set the bar really high for Mother's Day by giving me Tiffany's earrings. ;) Later in the day we went to Tim's basketball game and then out to visit his Grandma for a while. It was just a really nice day all around, but the best part was being a Mom for the first time. It was just another reminder of how amazing he is and how much he has changed my life for the better! Happy Mother's Day to me!

Watch out Gilbert!

I installed the new basketball court in the living room this evening. Timmy and I played some hoops and he caught on pretty quick! Here is one of his many highlights....

10 Months Old and Walking

I can not believe it, but last night Timmy's step taking pretty much turned into walking... He was all over the place! This clip is not even his longest walk of the night. Now obviously he's still pretty unstable, but Tim is betting that by the end of the month Timmy will be doing all of his getting around on two feet. He's a big boy!
